A time to celebrate!  Many vintage racing clubs and special feature groups have released their 2024 schedule to Victory Lane Magazine.  Features already announced by clubs, circuits and special groups include those for Healey's, Minis, Sprigets, Formula Junior, Japanese Cars, 50th Anniversary of Vintage Racing at Laguna, USRRC Tribute, Formula B Continental Cars, British Cars, Formula 5000 Cars, Vintage Indy Cars and Litchfield Cup.  There are many more to come soon.

The Del Monte Trophy Group at Velocity Invitational Nov 10-12, 2023  Video Online

Vintage racing cars of The Del Monte Trophy Group from the Pebble Beach Road Races of 1950-1956 were a special race group for this annual major vintage and historic weekend at Sonoma Raceway.  The Velocity Invitational weekend featured eight vintage racing groups of period authentic, period correct cars, McLaren cars were the featured marque with great cars from US owners and the UK factory collection.

Chris Springer, McLaren M8F Can-Am Car, Sonoma and Laguna Vintage Races 2023, Video Onsite

Historic Can-Am cars were featured during the Velocity Invitational Vintage Races November 10-12 at Sonoma Raceway, the Pre-Reunion August 12-14 and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca August 16-20. These events are world famous for featuring vintage and historic race cars of significant history and period correct preparation.  The M8F is the type of McLaren that Peter Revson raced to the 1971 Canadian American Cup Series Championship. 

Chris Springer acquired, restored and race prepped this example beginning in September 2023.  Laguna Seca was the first race in the M8F car achieving third place in the feature and an Award of Excellence.

2023 Last Vintage Races: HSR at Sebring, VDCA at Roebling Road

Th HSR Sebring Classic 12, Nov 29-Dec 3 has sprint races, short enduros and the 12 Hour Enduro.  The event attracts entries from North America and abroad.

Abarth's Racing 1958-1963 Photo Story In November Victory Lane Online

The Double Bubble Abarth Coupes dominated Cal Club and SCCA H Production races in the late 1950s and early 1960s.  They also won internationally.  They raced and won their class at Sebring, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, Riverside, Laguna Seca and on airfield circuits across the US.

Photographer Allen R. VRG Turkey Bowl Vintage Races Nov 17-19 Summit Point, WV Celebrate 2023

The 2023 VRG vintage racing season is celebrated with three on-track sessions for 5 Groups each day and a Saturday late afternoon Awards Party.

The Saturday sessions are for the 5 individual Groups.  The Sunday holiday tradition has Festival combined Group races to open the day followed by five individual Group races.  The three final All Comers afternoon races close out the celebration.

Velocity Invitational Vintage Racing Festival Nov 10-12, Sonoma Raceway with 60 Years of McLaren

The best of the best vintage and historic race cars are presented on-track at speed in spirited competition at this challenging circuit.  The 1963-2023, 60th Anniversary of Team McLaren and McLaren cars will be celebrated.  Winning the Can-Am series put McLaren at the forefront of top level racing.  Examples of every Can-Am McLaren will be on-track or in a special display.  McLaren excelled in Formula One and winning cars will be present.  The Le Mans and IMSA winning McLaren's, as well as other marques, will be competing.

Ten race groups include great racing cars from 1947 through 2016.  The event is also a festival of Sonoma area food, wine and special products.  Spectators are invited: www.velocityinvitational.com. 

VDCA Veterans Day Historics Nov 11-12 Road Atlanta

VDCA members and guests will have liberal track time on one of North America's top road racing circuits.  Each race group has Saturday practice, qualifying, Race 1 and a Feature.  The Lucky Dog fun race closes out the day.  The Sunday morning Enduro is followed by afternoon Feature Races.  This is a non-spectator event.

SVRA Vintage and Pro SpeedTour Racers at COTA Nov 3-5 2023

The Professional SpeedTour final races of the year include Trans Am, IGT, F4 and FR.  Twelve amateur vintage race groups include cars from the 1950s through the 2000s.  The featured Vintage Formula Vee Group celebrates 70 years of Formula Vee racing.  Spectators are welcome.

HSR Classic Daytona & 24 Hour Nov 1-5 With Classic & Historic Cars From 1950-2020

It's a big weekend at a big international circuit with world-wide entries.  The schedule is filled with sprint races, short endurance races and the big Saturday through Sunday noon 24 Hour.  there are six race groups, A through G, that rotate four one hour sessions to make 24 continuous hours of historic car racing.  Spectators are welcome.

MG 100 Years & Spridget Challenge CSRG Thunderhill Nov 3-5

Two big feature race groups add excitement to CSRG's final 2023 vintage race weekend.  All vintage racing classes will be racing at this favorite western circuit.  Saturday night is the 2023 season awards dinner.

Fall Racing Season At Full Revs October 2023

CVAR at Hallett and SVRA Vintage with Speed Tour at VIR October 5-8.

Vintage racing weekends and races make for a busy October 12-15.  They include:  VSCDA Thunder in The Ozarks at Ozarks International Raceway; Chattanooga Motorcar Festival with Brian Redman Historic Races; CSRG Laps for Laguna; SVRA Vintage with Speed Tour in Utah and HVR at Heartland Motorsports Park.

Corvette, Formula Ford Features Open October Vintage Events

The American Speed Festival at M1 Concours in Detroit began Friday September 29 and continues through Sunday October 1st saluting Corvette's 70th Anniversary 1953-2023.

Also, this weekend RMVR hosts The Thumbleweed Races at La Junta Raceway in Colorado.

On October 6-8, CVAR's Thunder on The Cimmaron vintage races features vintage Formula Fords at Hallett Raceway in Northern Oklahoma.  Many CVAR racers will then journey about six hours tow to the northwest for the following weekend's VSCDA Thunder in The Ozarks International Raceway in Arkansas.

VSCDA Thunder in The Ozarks Vintage Races Oct 13-15

Ozarks International Raceway's 3.97 miles, 19 turns, with challenging elevation makes this one of the very special circuits on the VSCDA 2023 schedule.  The scenic circuit is located between Kansas City and St. Louis in a major resort lakes area.

The schedule is set for maximum on-track time for race groups: all sprint races, no enduros or special features.  VSCDA invites its members and all vintage license holders to enjoy the weekend which includes Friday and Saturday night dinners in the garages.

VRG At The Glen Vintage Races Sept 22-24: Special Circuit, Special Weekend

It's three days of track time on the world-famous Watkins Glen International circuit!  Four VRG race groups, plus BMW Club race group, will each be on track three times Friday, twice on Saturday and in special races on Sunday.  The Paddock Crawl Social is Friday late afternoon after races.

Lime Rock Historic Festival Sept 1-4

Over 300 vintage racing cars of all eras will be on-track at speed Friday, Saturday and Monday.  Sunday is the race car concours on the Sam Posey Straight along start-finish and The Gathering of The Marques on the rest of the circuit, including the Paul Newman Straight up the hill.  Weekend feature races include those for 1959-1963 Formula Juniors, 1923-1989 MGs celebrating the marques 100th Anniversary and the 1908-1954 Pre and Post War Years Sports Cars. 

This years's honored collector is Lawrence Auriana.  Many of his significant cars will be on display and racing during the event.

2023 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion & Hillclimb Opens with 14 Race Groups On Track

Nearly 400 great racing cars from 1927 through 2007 will on the legendary Laguna Seca circuit once each day Wednesday through Saturday, followed by the Sunday corkscrew hillclimb and Community Day.  Corvette is the featured marque with legendary Corvettes in action and on display all week.  Over 20 fan favorite Historic Can-Am cars return to Laguna Seca after several years pause.  Included in this race Group 7 are cars from the United States Road Racing Championship of 1963-1968.  The Formula 5000 international grid includes cars from the US, Canada, England, New Zealand and Australia.  Historic Formula One, Trans Am and Prototype and PreWar car grids are packed with great cars.  The Del Monte Trophy Cars of 1950-1955 in Group 12, salute how this all began in the 1950-1956 Pebble Beach Road Races through the Del Monte Forest.  This vintage race and the Sunday Pebble Beach Concours are always the standout attractions for the annual Monterey Car Week.
