SOVREN's Pacific Northwest Historics Independence Weekend July 1-3 Pacific Raceways Salutes Lotus and Racing HistoryThis celebration with great racing cars, many great vintage races, open paddock for spectators all make this annual Fourth of July weekend a major vintage racing event. The legendary 2.5 mile road racing circuit set in a scenic fir forest with terrific spectator viewing has hosted all the great series: USRRC, F5000, Continental FB, SCCA Nationals, Trans Am, USAC Indy Cars. They were driven by Gurney, Brabham, Andretti, Follmer, Hobbs, Miles, Hall, Donohue, Unser, Hill and other legends. There have been hundreds of club races with cars including Abarth, AC Ace, Ace Bristol, Allards, Corvette, Jaguar, Austin Healey, Triumph, MG, Morgan, Lotus, Cobra, Elva, Lola, Ferrari, Maserati, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Cooper and more.
All this history will be saluted on-track by 200 vintage racers. The honored marque is Lotus with dozens of these famous cars racing in many classes. The famous Lotus 19 that Dan Gurney drove to victory in the 1962 Pacific Northwest Historics will be on display and in exhibition laps.
