Sir Jackie Stewart, 3 Time FIA F1 World Driver Champion, Honored RRDC Banquet Thursday Evening April 18 Starting Indy Car Long Beach Weekend

The RRDC Evening with Sir Jackie Stewart is presented by Firestone.  Stewarts international fame was achieved with 99 F1 starts, 27 wins and the 1969, '71, '73 World Driver Championships.  His first F1 win was in 1965 at Monza.  It all started early in 1964 at Goodwood where he excelled in a F3 test.  He went on to win the 1964 British F3 Championship driving for Ken Terrell. 

The very same year of 1964 he drove his first ever US race winning the August 15-16 Marlboro 12 Hour with co-driver Mike Beckworth in a Ford Lotus Factory Team Ford Lotus Cortina.  His US achievements included the 1966 Indy 500 Rookie of The Year, almost winning while leading with 8 laps to go when the engine failed.  He won numerous Can-Am Series races in 1970-1971.

In his later years he founded Race Against Dementia supported this year by the Road Racing Drivers Club Banquet.
