The largest major vintage and historic racing and concours weekend of 2020 begins this Thursday for three days of vintage and historic car racing. In addition to sprint races, there are Friday and Sunday afternoon enduros. It all takes place on the 4 mile Road America Circuit for this special Ariens Art on wheels supported weekend. COVID-19 protocols apply. Cars of all VSCDA and HSR classes are invited.
Japanese cars are the featured marque with several dozen entered. This annual race and festival weekend includes The Gathering On The Green concours in the nearby town of Elkhart Lake. However, the traditional tour of the original through the countryside circuit of the early 1950s will not take place. That circuit was replaced by Road America in 1955. The circuit layout is unchanged since then with only paving and safety improvements. It is set in a 600 acre park with great views of the action by spectators all around the circuit. Many new facilities and paddock improvements have been made in the last few years.
