It is well known that on-track performance and safety requires both the car and driver be in top condition.  Regular fast muscle twitch exercises and power exercises are required for optimum driver fitness.  There are many sources and books for racer fitness programs, including a fitness article in the Car and Driver Tech section of the May issue of Victory Lane Magazine.
