The Lotus Elan 26R was the factory built competition version of the Elan, 97 built 1964-1966. 4 wheel independent adjustable suspension.  Weight 1385 pounds with very lightweight  fiberglass body,  4 wheel, 10-inch disc brakes with light alloy calipers, sliding spline rear axles replacing the rubber donut type, 4 speed close ratio Ford gearbox.  Engine initially Cosworth tuned 140 HP, later BRM tuned 160 HP, twin overhead cam 1558cc, 4 cylinder Lotus Ford.  Magnesium knock off wheels F/R 13 d X 5.5 w, original tires Dunlop 5.00 X 13.
