Three 2022 Formula B Reunions Celebrate Continental Grand Prix Series First Year 1967, Dominated by Formula B Cars

Monoposto Racing, a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting vintage formula car racing, pleased to announce a series of races to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the beginning of the Continental Championship Series. The Continental Championship Series was the first professional race series organized by the SCCA. While it included Formulas A, B and C, the first ye of the series was dominated by the quick and well-balanced Formula B cars.

The three events hosting the series are:

1. SVRA Indy Speedtour at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, June 16-19,2022
2. VSCDA Vintage Weekend at Road America, September 16-18, 2022
3. CSRG Season Finale at Thunderhill Raceway Park November 4-6, 2022.

The race organizers have been very helpful in enabling Formula B only races (assuming a sufficient grid size) The races will be run in accordance with the current Monoposto Formula B class specification which can be found at www.monoposto.com.

Each weekend will feature two races that will be scored according to the Monoposto scoring rules. A special Continental Championship Series Reunion trophy will be awarded to the driver with the most points after : 5 races. For more information, please contact Marc Giroux ([email protected]) or Darrell LeBlanc ([email protected]).

The schedule has over 80 vintage racing weekend schedules to help plan a great vintage racing year.  It has many special feature groups and 70 international vintage race schedules for even more info.

This is the annual How to Get Started in Vintage Racing special issue with a large four page feature that presents all aspects of getting started.  To actually obtain a vintage racing license there is a feature on 2022 vintage racing schools held by the major vintage racing clubs.  The Ace Factor  book by the Vintage Motorsport Council, reviewed in this issue, is an excellent book for would be or beginning racers.  

As usual there are features, columns, and news of events.  Twelve monthly issues each year are online the first day of each month.  It is all available with no password, no fee at www.victorylane.com

Concours in The Hills February Saturday, February 12, 2022 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Concours in the Hills has sold out and online registration for Exhibitors is closed. Spectators however are most welcome and entry is free. The concours encourages donations. 2022 is set to break records. 

This is NOT a formal “white gloves” concours but rather, a fun and relaxed car show open to all makes and models. A variety of Food trucks ensure that everyone has a wealth of choices in the catering department. The 8th Annual show on Saturday February 12, 2022 will yet again take over the whole park creating an automotive spectacle. Look for a story in the March issue of Victory Lane.

March 12-13 At Laguna Seca, HMSA spring Club Vintage Racing Event

This is the first vintage racing weekend of 2022 at Laguna Seca.

For this event all vintage classes are welcome and will enjoy user friendly, liberal on-track time over the weekend.  This is an event noted for a good time on a legendary North American road racing circuit.
